NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A New York man is going through fees associated to the Capitol riot after the FBI was tipped off by one among his matches on a courting app.

In accordance with authorities, Robert Chapman, also referred to as Robert Erick, of Carmel, admitted he participated within the riot whereas chatting with a potential date on the courting app Bumble.

“I did storm the Capitol. I made all of it the way in which into Statuary Corridor,” he allegedly wrote, including he had been interviewed within the Washington Publish and Wall Avenue Journal.
“We’re not a match,” was the reply.

The individual Chapman was texting with snapped a screenshot of the change and gave it to the FBI.
Investigators then reviewed footage of the riot and say they noticed Chapman in it.

Authorities introduced his arrest Friday.
