LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Softball will return to the Olympics Tuesday with three video games together with a matchup between the U.S. and Italy which each have gamers from Orange County.
Softball on the Tokyo Olympics would be the first time the game has been performed on the video games since 2008. In 2005, the Worldwide Olympic Committee voted to drop softball from the 2012 Olympic program.

In 2016, softball was amongst six sports activities added to the 2020 Olympics together with baseball, karate, sport climbing, browsing and skateboarding.
Three gamers from Orange County and one from Los Angeles County are taking part in on the top-ranked U.S. crew. Catcher Dejah Mulipola from Anaheim, catcher Aubree Munro from Brea, outfielder Janie Reed from Placentia, and pitcher Rachel Garcia from Palmdale.

Garcia is amongst 4 UCLA alumni on the crew together with pitcher Ally Carda, utility participant Bubba Nickles and infielder Delaney Spaulding.
Italy, the lowest-ranked crew within the six-team Olympic softball event, has two gamers from Orange County — infielders Amanda Fama from Anaheim and Giulia Koutsoyanopulos from Mission Viejo.
