Southwest Pilots Blame ‘Poor Planning’ for 3,500-Plus Delays, Cancellations This Weekend

In a memo obtained by The Wall Road Journal, Alan Kasher, Southwest’s government vp of every day operations, stated, “To guard our general community from compounding points, extra cancellations are occurring at this time.”

The FAA responded in a tweet on Sunday, not naming Southwest Airways, saying that there have been “no FAA air visitors staffing shortages” reported since Friday.
