MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Minneapolis police say a suspect is in custody with non-life threatening wounds after exchanging gunfire with officers Thursday morning.
In response to police, they obtained a report at 8:22 a.m. of a person pointing a gun within the space of Logan Avenue and Lowry Avenue in north Minneapolis.
Officers then positioned the suspect and tried a visitors cease. A sluggish velocity pursuit ensured and the car crashed right into a snowbank a couple of minutes later at Lowry Avenue and Vincent Avenue. There, the suspect exchanged gunfire with officers.
Officers have been in a position to swap to non-lethal weapons and subdue the suspect, who seems to have suffered non-life threatening accidents. The suspect was arrested and is being handled for the accidents. There have been weapons seen within the suspect’s car.
