Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade plans to use Trade Expo Indonesia 2026 to promote a shared national identity for the country’s coffee. Fajarini Puntodewi, director general of national export development, outlined the initiative following a Sep 30, 2026 press conference in Jakarta. The proposal seeks stronger international recognition alongside established regional names such as Mandheling and Toraja.
The 41st expo is scheduled for Oct 14–18, 2026 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition, BSD City, in Banten. A dedicated coffee, tea and cocoa area will host promotional activities and buyer sessions. Puntodewi also wants exporters to increase sales of processed products, including packaged ground coffee and ready-to-drink beverages. ANTARA

Preparing coffee businesses for the expo
The ministry began bringing coffee businesses into the expo programme before the September announcement. Puntodewi opened a coffee-sector CEO gathering in Lampung on Sep 1, 2026, attended by businesses from the province and nearby areas. She invited them to participate in the October exhibition, with a particular focus on market access, new exporters and national coffee branding.
The ministry is preparing integrated accommodation facilities for potential buyers and plans to include the Indonesian Specialty Coffee Contest, known as KKSI, in the expo programme. These arrangements accompany the dedicated product area. The exhibition and its coffee-related activities remain scheduled events at the date of the announcement.
Existing buyer relationships
Hasan Sayed Haggag of Golden Coffee, an importer from Egypt, attended the Lampung gathering. He said he had participated in Trade Expo Indonesia for 15 consecutive years and had established relationships with Indonesian coffee suppliers for buyers in Egypt and the Middle East.
The meeting also brought together Lampung industry and trade official Muhammad Zimmy Skil, plantation official Desti Arisandi and Moelyono Soesilo, who leads the specialty-coffee and industry compartment at BPP AEKI and heads PT Sumber Kurnia Alam. Customs and quarantine representatives attended as well. Ministry of Trade
