Angel Yeast plans a third production line in Dankov

Angel Yeast Rus LLC plans to invest more than RUB 11 billion in a third production line at its yeast facility in Dankov, in Russia’s Lipetsk region. The project extends the local manufacturing operations of China’s Angel Yeast.

Lipetsk region Governor Igor Artamonov and an Angel Yeast representative signed the expansion agreement during a business mission to China. Construction and the new line’s attainment of its full annual capacity of 22,000 tonnes of yeast are targeted for completion by the end of 2027.

Planned production mix

The regional authorities project the following annual output across the enterprise after implementation:

55,000 tonnes of dry yeast;
3,000 tonnes of food ingredients;
92,000 tonnes of liquid organic fertilizers or feed.

The 22,000-tonne figure concerns the third line, while the product totals refer to the expanded enterprise. The schedule and production figures are project targets made public on Oct 29, 2025.

Established manufacturing site

The Dankov plant was already operating in 2019. At its opening, the factory’s planned annual product mix comprised 15,000 tonnes of dry yeast, another 15,000 tonnes of compressed yeast and 30,000 tonnes of organic fertilizers. The site was established within the Dankov special economic zone for food, alcohol and fodder yeast production.

IDGC of Centre provided the new factory with an electricity connection of up to 2 MW. The power engineers built a 1.2-kilometre section of 10 kV overhead line, installing additional reinforced-concrete poles, and laid a further 2.1 kilometres of 10 kV cable line. These works supplied the initial industrial facility.

The original production programme envisaged supplying Russian regions, neighbouring countries and the Middle East. Those destinations and the opening-stage product quantities formed part of the factory’s initial development programme in March 2019; the third-line agreement sets out the subsequent expansion targets.

Company and technical services

Angel Yeast was founded in 1986 and produces yeast and yeast derivatives. Its product range includes baker’s yeast and ingredients, savoury yeast extracts, animal and plant nutrition, microbial nutrition and enzymes. By July 2021, the company had established a regional service centre in Lipetsk to offer technical guidance on product applications, alongside centres in Cairo and Manila.
