A new base for Asian food processors
BAADER Food Systems Asia Sdn. Bhd. inaugurated its production facility in Shah Alam, Selangor, on May 28, 2025. The new Malaysian site extends BAADER’s regional operations and is intended to support customers in the poultry and fish processing industries across Asia.
The facility will combine production with innovation, developing and deploying solutions tailored to the requirements of those processing industries. Its remit includes both physical equipment and digital capabilities. The planned offering brings together three areas:
- food processing machinery;
- digital tools for monitoring production;
- data-driven insights into processing operations.
The site’s initial work will concentrate on sub-assembly and local sourcing. BAADER intends to expand its role within the group’s global network over time. BAADER Global CEO Petra Baader described the investment as a long-term commitment to the region.
Local operations within a wider network
Shah Alam is BAADER’s first production site in Asia. It complements the group’s established presence in Singapore and Beijing. The company aims to use the Malaysian base to work more closely with customers and partners, serving local needs alongside opportunities elsewhere in the region.
Malaysian Investment Development Authority chief executive officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid linked BAADER’s technology to more efficient resource use and reduced waste. He described the opening as part of Malaysia’s effort to develop its role in advanced manufacturing and food processing technology.
Selangor Chief Minister Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari officiated at the opening. Guests included BAADER Global CEO Petra Baader, German Deputy Ambassador Ulrike Wolf and MIDA manufacturing development executive director Norhizam Ibrahim. The programme included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, cultural performances and a tour of the plant.
